Extreme Weather | Roads closed due to snowfall in the Eastern Cape

Snowfall over Lootberg Pass on the N9 near Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape is raising concerns over potential road closures, with the Wapadsberg Pass between Graaff-Reinet and Nxuba also affected.

In Nelson Mandela Bay, the metro has activated its Joint Operations Centre as the cut-off low weather system continues to impact the province.

Overnight rain has already caused some road closures, but no serious flooding or evacuations have been reported. Municipal teams are also working to restore electricity in affected areas.
