Lessons Learned From Playing Outdoors | Rebecca Benná | TEDxDayton

The idea of playing outdoors sounds so simple and easy, but in today’s world there may be a generation of youth who will not have the opportunity to reap the benefits of freely playing in the outdoors. Becky shares her outdoor experiences, such as climbing trees, building forts, and rafting rivers, the life lessons she’s learned from those experiences and why we all should get outdoors!

Becky Benná, the Executive Director of Five Rivers MetroParks, is a proud public servant who has over 25 years’ experience working for various communities ranging in population size from 20,000 to over one million. Becky is President-Elect of the prestigious American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration whose members are distinguished leaders in the field of parks and recreation. She is a member of the National Recreation and Park Association Board of Directors, which serves over 40,000 professional and citizen members. Locally, Becky serves on several Boards, such as Bike Miami Valley and the Dayton Convention & Visitors Bureau. Becky holds an MBA and a BS in Education.
