Science Cafe: Neonatal Brain Matters

In an average year, 5,000 premature or seriously ill babies are born in Dallas County. The Neuro Wellness in Brains of Infants Program (NEWBI) is research in action to help fragile babies in North Texas and beyond. Join Lina Chalak, M.D., M.S.C.S., Interim Chief, Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, and Founding Medical Director of the Neurological Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Neuro NICU) Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and special guest Amanda Billings, UT Southwestern Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, for a special discussion about NEWBI research, care protocol, and what this means for the future of neonatal neurology.
