How to make a Signal Generator | Function Generator DIY| Sine,Triangle and Square Waveforms

This video demonstrates how to build a crude signal generator with variable frequency, amplitude and duty cycle.
This circuit is built around the waveform function generator IC 8038 capable of generating frequencies up to 300 KHz. My circuit is designed to generate signals up to 100 Kilo-hertz.

I will upload the gerber files, circuit diagrams and parts list in my instructables page. You may use my gerber files to order PCB online or use the eagle files to fabricate PCB on your own.

Function generator is one of the important devices in laboratory when it comes to generating electrical waveforms like sine, triangle,square or pulses over a range of frequencies, amplitude and duty cyle.
It can be used to generate test signals for audio amplifiers, generate clock signals for digital circuits, PWM signals for MOSFET or transistor circuits and this list goes on..
I have tested this circuit and works well for frequencies up to 100 KHz. The problem is that you will need a Oscilloscope to measure the frequency and amplitude. So I am planing to build a circuit for measuring output of function generator with a Display.
