Etihad Stadium - building update 2

As part of a £300 million investment, around 8,000 seats are being installed at the top of the North Stand - adding an extra tier - to take the capacity of the stadium to almost 62,000. This would give Manchester City the fourth largest stadium in the Premier League behind Manchester United, Spurs and West Ham - and putting it ahead of Liverpool. It would also put Manchester City above the 60,000 threshold that UEFA uses to consider venues for hosting the Champions League final.

In addition to the expanded North Stand, there will also be several connected all-weather facilities integrated into the stadium, including a covered City Square fan zone, with capacity for 3,000 people and a wide variety of food and drink outlets, a new club shop, club museum, workspace, and a 400 bed hotel.
