7 Reasons Ghost Recon Breakpoint Is The Game Wildlands Should Have Been | Breakpoint Gameplay

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is better than Wildlands in almost every way: a better stealth game, an engaging single player experience, more interesting enemies, a map put to better use… as we explain with this Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint gameplay. Here are 7 reasons Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the game Wildlands should have been.

This isn’t a Ghost Recon Breakpoint review - we played the first four hours of the campaign and a bit of Ghost War PvP to see how the game is shaping up. We played a mix of co-op and single player, with focus on the latter to see how the game’s new stealth and survival elements come into play without backup. Good news, the Breakpoint stealth game is better than Wildlands’, with lots of tension and horrible drones clanking about. The new Breakpoint drones have a big impact on play, but it’s the smaller touches I enjoyed: the more varied landscape courtesy of Auroa island, and the introduction of sync shot drones to let you do mass takedowns even when you’re alone.

Breakpoint single player is a much tastier proposition, though it’s just as fun to jump in a sports car and tear up the tarmac with some idiot friends. And yes, AI teammates will be coming at a later day. As you’ll see in these Breakpoint impressions, I’m not sure it needs them. Another set of Breakpoint features that impressed us was the improvements to Ghost War, not only better integrated with the main campaign progress, but improving map design by building arenas into the world map and not just picking some world locations and hoping for the best. Ghost Recon Wildlands fans might even recognize the new maps as a riff on that older game.

Anyway, I’m just repeating the video at this point. Why not watch our new Breakpoint gameplay - recorded on PC - to see the game for yourself. I’m not sure I would shell out for a pre-order just to play the beta - I imagine there will be an open beta at a later point, if the last game was anything to go by - but hopefully this video has given you an idea of what to expect from the Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta and eventual release. If you have any questions about new Ghost Recon that weren’t answered by the video, pop them in the comments. I’m happy to answer them. And why not share your Breakpoint reaction with us, if you make it into the beta.
