An all-out feud between the MacArdens and the Gowans is taking place in the banks and braes of 18th-century Scotland. This makes it very tough for Alexander MacArden and Barbara Gowan who are lovers--despite their families ingrained hatred of each other. Things turn out right in the end, but not before blood is spilled in some spectacular swordfights.
