Building Rustic Table Lamps using Firewood and Edison Bulbs | DIY Upcycling Project

In this video you will see how I build one of my Edison block lamps with filament light bulb.
The concept is to build a unique wooden lamp using sustainable material. Since firewood like oak and beech (this lamp) is very accessible in my area (Hasselt Belgium) it makes for the perfect raw material. Apart from being sustainable, firewood is very unique and every block is different which makes for very unique lamps!

I use a steel brush and sandpaper to clean the block and remove any dirt. The majority of the cut is done on my table saw and the rest with a handsaw (not shown in this video). After sanding the surfaces up to 240 grid, I use a forstner bit to drill my hole and different router bits to enlarge the hole to perfectly fit the lamp fitting.

This is the perfect upcycling diy woodworking how to project for anyone looking for a nice little lamp. For everyone who doesn't want to get their hands dirty, these are available on my website:
