Part 04: Fuselage Rib Design & Assembly Start – UAV Airframe (SolidWorks)
Welcome to Part 04 of the UAV Airframe Design Series (SolidWorks).
This session focuses entirely on the structural development of the UAV fuselage. The workflow begins with creating the internal fuselage rib system, including both vertical and horizontal structural ribs that define the primary body framework of the airframe.
The modeling process emphasizes rib positioning, structural spacing, and geometric consistency required to support the overall fuselage architecture. Attention is given to how the rib network interacts internally to establish a stable and organized structural layout for later assembly integration.
Following the rib creation phase, the workflow transitions into the initial fuselage assembly process. Early assembly operations are performed to begin integrating the structural ribs within the fuselage framework, although the full rib network and final assembly are not yet completed in this stage.
This video presents the complete real-time workflow with no time-lapse—demonstrating how an internal UAV fuselage structure is progressively developed from individual ribs into a coordinated assembly system inside SolidWorks.
