Hi Cruisers, it’s Sheri from CruiseTipsTV. In our last packing video we talked about folding vs rolling. This time we are going to talk about a crazy third option call Bundle Wrapping.

Okay, so what is bundle wrapping really? Well, lets first start with a few basics like when and why you’d want to consider it.

• Unlike rolling, bundling doesn’t work well with duffels, totes, backpacks or similar bags. You’ll want your typical hard shell, or structured suitcase when bundling

• bundle wrapping is Great for squeezing a lot of clothing options together for a long trip and when you have A mix of casual and dress or formal clothing.
It seems to do the trick when you really want to avoid wrinkles, IF you don’t mind spending a little extra time packing

So how do you Bundle?

We’ll start with small things that don’t wrinkle like socks, underwear, swimsuits, and other accessories. We’ll gather up all these things for the core. A packing cube works great for this. We’ll use our new favorite from Shacke Pack. You can use any similar item, but it should be about this size or close.
Fill that up nice and tight, and get ready for step two.

This next part requires extra planning and attention to detail. One wrong move and … (Boom). Okay, not really, but it was getting a little boring.

But you do have to think about the order of how you lay things out. Start with clothes that wrinkle easily like dress shirts & eveningwear. Make sure everything is buttoned then lay them down flat. Jackets are face down, but all other items should be face up. Lay SHORT dresses and shirts vertically and alternate North/South, and LONG dresses and pants, horizontally, alternating east and west. Next add clothes that are less likely to wrinkle following the same pattern.

Now, Add the Core.
Then, wrap each garment around the core. When you are done you’ll have one nice solid “bundle” that packs easily and fits snugly into your suitcase. Theoretically this method will leave you with the fewest wrinkles and unwanted creases, but as I mentioned, it does require a little extra time and attention to detail.

So, yeah … you know how I like to pack. Give it a go yourself and let us know how it works for you. Remember the trick is to jam the small and less wrinkle-prone stuff into the core, wrap it with larger and more wrinkly stuff, and finally secure that in your hard shell suitcase.
