Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several development projects worth Rs 24,000 crore in Gujarat’s Dahod, including India’s first electric locomotive manufacturing plant, saying that India has broken decades-old shackles in 11 years.

The Prime Minister was felicitated during the event and presented with a ceremonial bow and mace as he attended the event. This is his first visit to Gujarat following the success of India’s Operation Sindoor against Pakistan.

Delhi reported at least 104 Covid-19 cases during the last week, while Kerala and Maharashtra have logged 430 and 209 new cases respectively in the same period, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

A total of 1,009 active cases have been reported from across India, including 12 in West Bengal, 13 in Rajasthan, 15 in Uttar Pradesh, 69 in Tamil Nadu, 47 in Karnataka and 83 in Gujarat.

Mumbai continues to reel under inclement weather as intermittent rains have thrown normal life out of year. On Monday, the city woke up to a rainy morning coupled with dark clouds.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the coastal observatory in Colaba registered 135 mm of rainfall till 8.30 am while the Santacruz observatory logged 33 mm on Monday.
