Solo Spring Wild Camping - Loch Grannoch - Tarp Shelter - Bivvy - Campfire Cooking

After a few weeks of stormy weather, I decided to hike out to Loch Grannoch in the Galloway Hills. I was itching to try out some new kit - a Rab Ascent 700 sleeping bag and a mini fire grill made by TJM Metalworks.

It's a decent hike up to Loch Grannoch so the area has a feeling of remoteness about it; no road noise and just the sound of the odd plane travelling overhead. There is an abandoned hunting lodge at the head of the loch, looks like its just being left to rot unfortunately, I couldn't help thinking that it would make a cracking bothy.
