Amid heavy rainstorm in Beijing on Tuesday July 27 2021, a road slope in Haidian district collapsed and damaged nearby buildings, leading to twelve deaths, including three that were missing on Wednesday morning but were later found dead.

The road slope, southwest to the Fragrant Hill Old Apartment, collapsed at about 6:30 pm China local time, with soil and rocks rolling down into the yard and damaging some buildings, trapping 12 people, reads a statement the Haidian district government released on Wednesday morning.
Beijing saw heavy rains on Tuesday, leading to the issuing of rainstorm, lightning and geological disaster alerts.
A total of 69 trains starting from the Beijing West Railway Station and Beijing South Railway Station have been suspended as of Tuesday evening due to heavy rains and typhoon weather in many places including Central China's Henan Province, the Beijing Evening News reported on Wednesday.
