In this video, I give a hands-on review of the SmallRig Wireless Phone Monitor—a budget-friendly solution for mobile video monitoring. It’s under $70 and comes with the monitor, a hot shoe mount, a USB-C cable, and a remote button. While the concept is solid and it has some nice features like MagSafe and a reversible screen, I found the experience frustrating. The lag is significant, and the connection process is inconsistent. It might work for basic framing, but it’s not reliable enough for me to keep. I go over what works, what doesn’t, and why I’m returning it.
