Alan Clarke - Elephant - 1989 - Pedro Off The Cuff Review

This is an off the cuff initial review of the 38-minute film Elephant directed by the remarkable talent Alan Clarke. The film is a disturbing and intense take on the troubles in the late 80s in Northern Ireland. Produced by Danny Boyle of Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Slum dog Millionaire, Olympics 2012 fame.
The film which I mention that was influenced by this piece was also called Elephant as stated but was in fact direct by Gus Van Sant not Werner Herzog and came out in 2003.
