What Does it Cost to Live in an RV in Mexico? #rvliving #monthlybudget #livingexpenses #shorts
What does it cost us to live full time in our RV in Mexico?
Last year we had a $2,000 a month budget.
This year we had to increase our budget to $2,250 because our health insurance premium has increased.
So what was the damage in January? January was a very fun month for us! We did ALOT of exploring and even went to some new places in Baja. Because of this, we went over our monthly budget by $148.24 which isn’t bad at all. If we had eaten out less we would have been right at or under budget.
Here’s the in depth breakdown of our expenses:
Fixed expenses: $1050
this includes our health insurance ($250), RV insurance ($100), life insurance, cell phone ($110), supplements & meds ($400), streaming ($20), dogs ($75). We do not have an RV payment.
Camping: $117.89
We saved a lot on camping costs because we boondocked for free on beaches for 25 nights. We spent 4 nights at La Maranatha in La Paz, 3 of those nights were without any hookups which cost $16.84, and one night with electric & water for $25.26. We spent one night in a campground in Los Barilles for $26.32. And one night in Cabo in a gated parking lot for $15.79
Groceries: $350
We stocked up on meat & essentials before crossing the border to Mexico so we haven’t needed many groceries. We mostly bought fresh fruits, veggies, snacks & some essentials.
Laundry: $0
Use of the laundry mat is free at La Maranatha campground
Water/Propane: $54.22
Three drinking water refills cost us $27.90 & one propane refill for $26.32
Fuel:$380.87
We drove most of the southern loop of Baja except for Cabo Pulmo which isn’t paved
Misc: $92.10
Our misc expenses included the Cabo boat tour for $31.58, ATV rental in Los Barilles $50, and secure parking while I flew in our friend's plane $10.52.
Eating out: $353.16
We ate out 10 times which is more than usual for us. But we were driving quite a bit and visiting with friends.
We love sharing our budget & expenses with everyone to show that RV living can be affordable.
Has sharing our expenses helped you in anyway?
