Albany Plan of Union (1754)

Librarian Caleb May reads the Albany Plan of Union, a plan for a proposed Federal Union of British Colonies in North America. The plan was drawn up by Benjamin Franklin and, although it never went into effect, many of the ideas in it would later be used to form the government of the United States after the War of Independence.
