How to find RAIN water leaks behind your walls....
In this video, we take a look at a client's house, which has developed a few water leaks. We'll be walking through some of the steps to test and detect the source of the leak, as well as some preventative and restorative measures you can take to protect your property from rainwater leaks in the future!
At the start of the video, we start at the bottom level of the structure where we can see the water damage from our water leak. We then switch over to the balcony where we see the artificial grass layered deck, and we proceed with identifying the leak. The best procedure for identifying leaks is by going bottom to top. We start with checking the floor for any leaks with the water accumulated by the artificial grass being the most likely cause. Surprisingly the leak wasn't on the floor. We then move to the next level by checking the wood beam and stucco. We identify the first breach on the wood beam. We then move higher by following the bottom to top approach and start checking the stucco walls. We find more leaks on these and perform the appropriate repairs to seal the leaks and prevent further water damage. The last leak we were able to identify was a gap in the window itself.
One of the most important ways to ensure you perform a water leak correctly is by identifying all leaks and sealing them properly. You don't want to do a repair and find out down the line that there were additional breaches you missed. To learn more on Rain Leak Detection, check out our website at:
