Review: The Truth About Lifetime Kayaks. My Lifetime Tamarack 100 Angler took on a lot of water and was getting extremely close to sinking to the bottom of the Potomac River. The “issue” was first discovered while kayaking in the Chesapeake Bay in Cape Charles Va. Be sure to watch this video before you buy your next fishing kayak! They run somewhere around $300 but it's going to be hard to beat at that price point. If you're looking at buying your first or getting a cheap spare? This might just be up your ally.

Anyway! You can pick one of these kayaks up at Walmart (used to be able to, thanks 2020) for anywhere from $220-$320 or currently $550 on the Lifetime website.

If you're looking for a fishing kayak on a budget...I just don't see anything on the market that comes close to the Lifetime line of fishing kayaks. For $300 or so you have a kayak that is safe on calmer rivers, streams, lakes and even calm salt water. This is by no means a fast water or whitewater kayak.

Working in bigger water, fighting current and more advanced conditions I'd love to have a kayak with pedals... perhaps one day Lifetime wil make such a model. But I've had this kayak on ponds, lakes, streams, creeks, rivers and salt water inlets and even the Chesapeake Bay.
