COVID Mandates for Puerto Rico as of October 14, 2021

The Dry Law and Midnight restrictions from September 2021 have expired! There is no curfew or prohibition on alcohol sales.

The Elective surgery prohibition from September 2021 is also EXPIRED.

For the first time since March 2020, there are no new Executive Orders on covid-19 from Puerto Rico Governor Pierluisi. The remaining COVID restrictions do not have an expiration date.

Current Restrictions as of October 14, 2021:
Proof of vaccinations or negative COVID test required for employees or guests of paradors, AirBnBs and any short term rentals. Weekly tests.

Restaurants, beauty salons, barbershops, beauty salons, spas, gyms and casinos must require proof of vaccination from both employees and customers. These businesses that do not check customer vaccination status, must reduce to 50% capacity. Outside rules may differ.

Face masks are mandatory inside airports, inside public buildings, and inside private businesses when not eating or drinking.

Beaches, El Yunque Rainforest, concerts, events, guided tours, and museums are OPEN! Some scheduled activities may require proof of vaccination or recent negative COVID test, check specific event details before purchasing tickets.

The executive order (OE 2020-037) that requires evidence of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for all passengers arriving on the island remains in force.

All US arriving passengers age 2 years+ submit a travel declaration with contact tracing info, and EITHER proof of vaccination OR proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

All arriving passengers to Puerto Rico age 2 years old and over are required to submit a travel declaration with contact tracing info, and EITHER proof of vaccination OR proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR molecular-based or antigen) or
If you are arriving from the States and you are fully vaccinated, you do not need a COVID test. International passengers still require negative test upon entry.

Serological tests and rapid tests are not currently accepted.

If you are un-vaccinated and do not have negative results when you arrive to PR, you have 48 hours to produce those results or you will be fined $300 per person.

Face masks are mandatory at all Puerto Rico airports.
