Damascus pattern #3dprinting #blender #geometrynodes

This is a test for a couple of textures I plan to add to my 3d printable surface texture addon for Blender. The patterns were made via geometry nodes.

I've really liked the patterns that can be made though damascus steel and thought that it would be a cool thing to add to the texture addon. These 2 patterns were generated via a 3d procedural method, but I think that for more complex patterns I'll introduce another 2d stencil like approach.

The blade was printed on an anycubic resin printer. It was coasted in plastikote brilliant metallic silver. The wash was the classic nuln oil (gloss) made by citadel paints for games workshop miniatures (eg warhammer 40k).

I think this process would be of a lot of use for those who want to print props as well as cosplayers.
