Making High Performance Carbon Foam For Supercaps/Batteries-Part 1
Part 1 - High performing, high surface area carbon foam from sugar, using zinc and potassium nitrates and your microwave! idea for making supercapacitors and batteries. It stores twice as much energy density as the standard coconut activated carbon used in many commercial supercaps.
Ingredients:
20 grams Sugar (any sugar)
20 grams zinc nitrate hexahydrate
5 grams Potassium Nitrate
(optional) 0.4 grams Fumed Silica
This is my own recipe and methodology based on the recipe and video Robert Murray-Smith showed us. Here's the link to his video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSDSUFvLOEo&list=PLbQqm4rNo625Etz4INo2wP2X4sxgwDyNN&index=53&t=0s
