'A firebrand young radical': Simon Marks on Mamdani's impact so far

LBC's Washington Correspondent Simon Marks walks James O'Brien through the US elections. Polls have opened in New York, Virginia and New Jersey, while California polling centres will open later.

This so-called "off year" election doesn't feature presidential or congressional races, but there are still several critical votes to watch.

New Yorkers will head to the polls to elect the city’s next mayor. Voters will have to decide between Zohran Mamdani, a self-titled Democratic socialist, Andrew Cuomo, the city’s former Democrat governor who is running as an independent, and Curtis Sliwa, the Republican candidate.
