Girdle the bark of the jujube tree.

Using a bicycle chain to remove the bark of a jujube tree, this practice is known as "girdling" or "bark ringing", and it mainly has the following functions:

- Controlling vegetative growth: During the growth process of a jujube tree, the organic nutrients produced by the leaves through photosynthesis will be transported downward to the roots through the phloem. Girdling can temporarily cut off the phloem, preventing the organic nutrients from being transported downward. As a result, the nutrients accumulate in the above-ground parts and are supplied more to the flowers and fruits, which is conducive to increasing the fruit setting rate and the quality of the fruits.

- Regulating the tree vigor: For jujube trees with excessive growth and vigorous vegetative growth, girdling can weaken their vegetative growth and promote reproductive growth, making the growth and development of the tree more balanced. This is beneficial for improving the overall yield and economic benefits of the jujube trees.

It should be noted that there are certain technical requirements for girdling jujube trees. For example, the time and width of girdling should be reasonably determined according to factors such as the variety, age, and vigor of the jujube trees. Otherwise, it may cause damage to the jujube trees and affect their normal growth and subsequent yields.
