Scientology “speed runs” have taken over TikTok, with people sprinting into Scientology buildings, filming security, wearing costumes, and sometimes even causing property damage and injury. But as much as I believe secretive religions deserve scrutiny, I don’t think harassment-content is the same thing as exposing abu$e. Scientology has a documented history of real harm, from disconnection and extreme financial pressure to allegations of labor exploitation and intimidation, but most of these videos do not meaningfully focus on any of that. Instead, they often hand high-control religions exactly what they want: persecution propaganda that makes members more afraid of the outside world.
