Rise of the Fatimid Caliphate (909-1021) / History Documentary

With its roots in a movement that had been driven underground, the creators of this new Shia state had been moulded by the pressure of living in deserts and in secret. Once in power, they announced their ambitions by establishing a Khilafah. Over the next century, they would assert themselves across North Africa and the Middle East; in the process overshadowing their Abbasid foes. This is the history of the Fatimids.
