American Airlines Flight 587 was a regular flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, United States, to Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. On November 12, 2001 the plane crashed in the Queens area 1 minute after taking off from JFK Airport, killing its 260 occupants and 5 more people on the ground, being the second worst accident in the history of the United States, only overcome by American Airlines flight 191.
