BOEING 747 LANDING + DEPARTURE - B747 Planespotting at Cologne (4K)

This Boeing 747 of Aero Trans Cargo arrived at Cologne from Nur Sultan Airport. The main runway 14L was closed that day and that` s why all aircrafts had to use the shorter runway 24. The Boeing 747 still wears the livery of its former operator Centurion Air Cargo from the USA. Centurion doesn` t exist anymore but their holding company Sky Lease Cargo is still operating with two B747 Freighters. Quite nice to see this yellow B747 flying around in the former Centurion livery. Two hours after the arrival the Boeing 747 departed empty to Leipzig Airport. Note the fast roatation of the yellow B747.

A Boeing 747 of National was also at Cologne that day. The main runway was closed and the crew of the B747 was forced to depart from the shorter runway 24 (2500m) to Louisvillle. Actually I thought they wouldn` t use this runway with a fully loaded B747 but it was no problem at all. The livery of National Airlines looks stunning and in my opinion its one of the best Boeing 747 liveries out there. I am always amazed whenever I see a National B747. Currently National operates five flights per week to Cologne, on behalf of UPS. UPS needs some support to deal with the highter christmas demand.
