Altering my shirt and my mindset

Join me in altering my first shirt from crop, shape, darts, to binding. I really love this #MerfolkForBlackLives shirt, but because it's only sold in one unisex tank top style, I needed to learn how to sew. And being kind to myself when at first I don't succeed.

This sewing journey spans 2 months (of which 2 months minus 2 days were spent recouping). It goes to show that Rome wasn't conquered in one day and neither was sewing... that takes 2 days! But joking aside, this project really gave me a greater appreciation for your standard knitwear shirts. There's a lot that goes into correct binding!

Also (not sponsored) check out this black-owned small company where I got my shirt:

The company does flat pricing across their wide range of sizes, but only carries standard styles in order to keep costs down for the consumer to make it more accessible.
