When Kaya was first born into this world her mother took great care of her. Kaya was a very beloved macaque monkey, both by the viewers, her mother, and especially by aunt Keyla. I'm not sure what happened to Kaya's mother. However, I can come up with a few theories regarding macaque troop behaviors.

1. Kaya's mother was banished from the troop.
2. Kaya's mother died of natural causes.
3. Kaya's mother simply abandoned her.
4. The Cambodian Vo's poisoned Kaya's mother.
Remember the legendary macaque monkey Kaya. All hail Keyla. The Vos could have saved Kaya, but instead choose to videotape it all. Which is why people watch. Keep up the good work Cambodian Vos. :)Trillion Tears.

P. S. If a baby monkey needs a babysitter, hire aunt Keyla, she is the troop go to aunt for babysitting.
