If you want to do something that matters, get started whether you feel like it or not. No matter how committed you are to your goals and dreams, sometimes you’re gonna feel like working to make it happen; and sometimes you won’t feel like working toward it at all.

How to stop relying on motivation
Real talk: No matter how committed you are to your goals and dreams, sometimes you’re gonna feel like working to make it happen; and sometimes you won’t feel like working toward it at all.
Groundbreaking. I know.
In the times when you’re not feeling particularly inspired or motivated, you might start to doubt yourself. You may start to think that this means there’s something wrong with you or that you must not want it badly enough.
Well, I’ve got good news and bad news…
Good news: there’s nothing wrong with you. You’re just human.
Bad news: that motivation and inspiration you were hoping to feel might not show up at all.
Far too many ambitious people are letting their dreams slip into a procrastination pothole because they are waiting to “feel like it.” Please don’t be like them.
If you are waiting for the muse to stop by before you’ll feel ready, then you are are very rarely (if ever) going to make it happen. Because there’s no such thing as ready.
If you want to write, sit down and start typing. If you want to paint, grab some paint and paper and get to it. If you want to be a speaker, turn on a voice recording app and start talking. When motivation comes around, it will be nice and feel good, but don’t rely on it as a crutch to get started.
Bottom line: If you want to do something that matters, get started whether you feel like it or not.
