Pony Motor Starting A Huge 2894 Cubic Inch Waukesha Gasoline Engine At Vista, CA 6-24-17

Back in the day when they were this big, it many times took an engine to start an engine. This huge 300-horsepower, 2893.98 C.I. (8.5-inch bore x 8.5-inch stroke -- 47.4 liter) Waukesha 6LRO 88C " The GIANT Six", gasoline engine has a small 4-cylinder pony motor attached to its side to get the much bigger 6-cylinder engine started. This engine was used to pump drilling fluid on an oil rig.
