5 New Secret Stealth Weapons - US vs. China vs. Russia

Since 2020, the US military has had a growing concern about China's and Russia's latest nuclear developments.

Some military experts believe that a Second Cold War looms on the horizon, as the world superpowers have drastically increased their military technological innovations.

The US fears that Russia is building aircraft and counter-space weapons capable of taking down satellites floating on Earth's orbit.

The possibility of Russia or China launching a nuclear weapon in space is not strange to the Pentagon.

In June 2020, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy Stephen Kitay recently said to the press (QUOTE):

"That is a threat that we have to potentially be prepared for: a nuclear detonation in space."

If such nuclear detonation ever occurs, the explosion would create an electromagnetic pulse that would render all electronics orbiting in space useless, including satellites.

The US would be left entirely blind, without any possibilities of using satellite images or advanced communications for contact.

If such risk seems familiar is because, during the height of the Cold War, both the US and the USSR agreed in 1967 to not use any nuclear weaponry that could destroy satellites.

Under the Outer Space Treaty, both countries limited the use of nuclear armament in space.

Tensions seem to rise even more with leaks of Russia's newest aircraft: a hypersonic bomber capable of delivering nuclear strikes from outer space.

The airplane, capable of conventional take-offs and landings at an airbase, will patrol Russia's airspace. Upon command, it will ascend into outer space, strike a target with nuclear warheads, and then return to its home base.

Its engines, fueled by kerosene while in the Earth's atmosphere, switch to methane and oxygen power upon entering space.

According to Russian Colonel-General Sergei Karakayev, (QUOTE): "The unit's operational ability has been proven…" and as of May 2020, it has performed more than four test flights successfully.

The airplane can deliver a nuclear strike anywhere on Earth in less than two hours.

Because it operates in space, anti-aircraft and anti-missile technology will be useless defenses against its nuclear payload. It would be nearly invisible until it hit.

The aircraft in question is the second prototype of the Tu-22M3M supersonic bomber that has been tested at hypersonic speeds.

It will be equipped with a missile that is substantially more powerful than the X-32 missiles that some Russian aircraft use. The rocket is reportedly capable of Mach 10 speeds and a range of almost 1000 km.

Based on the Russian Tu-22M long-range supersonic missile-carrying bomber, the Tu-22M3M has substantial upgrades to the fuel mechanisms, navigations, comms, sights, and other essentials of electronic warfare.

Its maiden flight was in December 2018, and the Russian Air Force expects to start deliveries in 2021, replacing the standard Tu-22M models.
