GoBabyGo Fittings at New Trier 2023

New Trier Engineering students and Applied Arts faculty welcomed families to both campuses this week for a collaborative project called GoBabyGo, made possible with a grant from the New Trier Educational Foundation. The GoBabyGo program was started at the University of Delaware and has been adopted by schools around the world, with a mission to increase mobility and access to mobility devices for children during their early developmental years.

Since the fall, New Trier students have been working in teams to assemble and modify 40 Power Wheel cars that will all be donated to children to allow them to play and socialize with their peers more easily. New Trier hosted multiple fitting days on March 6 and 7 with children matched through the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab and the Illinois Spina Bifida Association.
