Day of Destruction TV was visiting one of Canada's finest Muay Thai gyms in Alberta called Smandych Gym, who is established by the two brothers Nathan & Trevor Smandych.

Trevor began his martial arts journey in karate at the age of 11. When he was 13, he moved into the muay thai/kickboxing program and never looked back. Known for his forward pressure and his devastating left body hook and low kicks, Trevor had an incredibly successful fight career under coach Mike Miles, accumulating over 60 fights. He had notable fights against the likes of Remmy Bonnel (France), Narupol Fairtex (Thailand), Kurt Finlayson (Australia), Sak Nayagam (England), Mark Brackenburry (Canada), Shane Campbell (Canada), Murthel Groenhart (Netherlands), Shaun Yacoubian (USA), and Jeff Perry (USA) and amassed the following titles along the way:
2005 - WKL Professional World Muay Thai Title (Vancouver)
2004 - WKA Professional North American Superwelterweight Muay Thai Title
2004 - WMTO Professional Intercontinental Muay Thai Title
2004 - C-Max II Title (Calgary)
2003 - WMC Professional Intercontinental Muay Thai Title (Bangkok)
2003 - C-Max 1 Title (Calgary)
2002 - WMC Professional Commonwealth Muay Thai Title (Calgary)
2000 - WMC Professional Intercontinental Muay Thai Title (Calgary)
In 2008, Trevor had the opportunity to compete on the Contender Asia - a reality series following the 16 top middleweight fighters in the world including John Wayne Parr, Narupol Fairtex, and Yodsanklai Fairtex. Trevor ran the Ranchlands location of Mike Miles Kickboxing and Muay Thai from January 1999 to December 2009.

In 2010 Trevor and his brother Nate branched out and started Team Smandych. With keen eyes for proper technique, enthusiasm for helping students achieve their goals combined with the love of Muay Thai, they have successfully created a welcoming, yet disciplined, teaching environment for beginners and advanced athletes alike. Trevor’s resume also includes being the mastermind behind the successful and popular fight promotion Journey Fight Series from 2010 - 2017. Journey hosted many amateur and professional bouts and helped to solidify Canada's Muay Thai scene.
