The second day. A quiet morning in camp, then Popcorn and JB build up the furnace and the chimney. That evening popcorn lights the furnace to clean out the still and cure the new mud. We were well in cups by that point and Popcorn rescues the hoe from the fire. (Somehow the "pole-ax" did not get rescued — the remains were discovered in the ashes the next morning.) Popcorn cuts a jig and warns me that if I play in the fire I'll wet my bed.
