With me being out of the office and needing a video shot, Jesse called me up and asked if he could show off what it is that he does in a typical pull workout. This mean that he was going to show off his compound lift and the hypertrophy work that follows suit. But the workout doesn't start until after he takes his ATHLEAN-RX X-CITE pre-workout (yes, he has his own flavor!)

Jesse's pull day starts with a quick warmup to get him ready to deadlift. His two choices for this workout were banded pullthroughs and banded good mornings. He chose these two exercises because they help to prime the all important glutes, hamstrings, and lower back that will all be used when he starts deadlifting.

Jesse's workout next moves onto the deadlift. He decided that today was going to be a day for heavy singles with a target weight above 500 lbs. While the warmups were smooth, the working set and its second attempt fell short of expectations. But that did not mean that the workout was over. Once the deadlifts were finished, it was time to hit the back and biceps.

The muscle building portion of the workout came down to two back exercises and two biceps exercises, due to a time limitation. While time was limited, that didn't mean that effort was too. You can see Jesse putting everything he's got into finishing each set when failure was required. The seated cable rows, the 1-arm lat pulldowns, the biceps curls, and the hammer curls were all done with intent to make sure that he was getting the most out of each movement.

As is customary with much of the ATHLEAN-X training library, Jesse finished his workout with a corrective exercise: the hip band mini ladder. This is a great way to keep the muscles strong and healthy in the long run. Jesse knows that if he keeps up with his correctives, he has a better chance at not keeping his muscles healthy, but at avoiding any imbalances and potentials for compensations.
