Nordkalottleden | Europe's Last Wilderness | 11

Chapter 11. The Nordkalottleden takes me back to Sweden. With pain in my heart, l leave behind this fishermen' cabin and l head towards Pälsa STF.

There, l have a wonderful time spending hours with the hut's host. It's his last day. l help him arranging the hut and he treats me to coffee, cookies and a great conversation. When simple things in life fill up your spirit...

In the morning, l get up early. l have bad weather on my way and tough going up the mountains. It's so cold l can hardly stop to take videos. But l have to as the scenery is magical.

l'm now leaving Sweden behind for the last time and entering Finland. The colors are spectacular. kilpisjärvi is waiting for me.

My wife has booked me a room at the Kilpis Hotel. Very expensive, old and crappy. But l have a wonderful time eating cookies and weird (to me) Finish sweets make of sausages.

Coffee is free in the hotel (at least to me). l have plenty of it while l wait for the laundry. Boy the hot shower... l can't begin to tell you how it feels!

I walked this trail from 24th August to 20th September.
