Interview with llse Rooman - Full Professor and Director at Anticancer Fund

PCE meets Ilse Rooman. She holds the position of Full Professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and serves as the Director of the Pancreatic Cancer Program at the Anticancer Fund. With a strong focus on translational research, Rooman have pioneered powerful models to analyse the plasticity of exocrine cells during the initiation of pancreatic cancer, particularly in relation to pancreatitis. Her research not only sheds light on the mechanisms underlying pancreatic cancer but also aims to develop innovative therapeutic and preventive strategies.

She is also the director of the Pancreatic Cancer Program at the Anticancer Fund, where she oversees preclinical and clinical research projects.
