Modelling with Curves in Blender 2.8. Sniper Rifle Scope

This is my workflow how I model with Curves. You can reach a very high level of detail without the need to subsurf. The method I use is very good for modelling cylindrical objects like a rifle scope.

This is a live stream, in the end blender started crashing on me, but I kept my head cool :)

Use a bezier circle for de perimeter ( cilinder ). If you rotate the circle, apply the rotation using ctrl+a.
DO NOT SCALE THE CIRCLE. SCALE THE IMAGE. Just trust me on this.

Then add a bezier Curve. Set the Curve as the bevel object of the circle. Place the Curve at the outer of the circle and set the curve handles in edit mode to vector.

When you need to bend or corner set a point before the corner and one point after the corner. This way you can make the corner with the handles of the curve. You can set te resolution of the curve in the properties.

Feel free to ask me anything about my workflow
