Hey everybody what's up and welcome to rock-gamer. It's throwback thursday where i highlight some of my favourite songs harmonix has released as rock band DLC over the past several years And before we get started with today's episode i just wanted to let you guys know that i put up a rock band 4 video that basically breaks down the gameplay reveal that came out in ign. I go everything we learned about rock band 4.including some things i noticed so if you click the annotation box to find out more about rock band 4. But let's get started with this week's episode. So the first song is interstate love song by the band stone temple pilots. This song was released during infancy days of rock band 1 when DLC just started coming out. I remember this song it seemed like yesterday but t was all the way back in early 2008. What a fantastic song. I remember being a kid back in the 90's and hearing this song on the radio all the time. Little did i know stone temple pilots sang this song years later and what a fantastic song it is on drums.. I play an electronic drum kit and one of the big advantages of playing on an electronic drum kit is that i can finally play rim shots. And this is a song that has an intro where you're playing rim shots and the hi-hat. and it's a lot of fun to start out the song with. And it's also a really good song if you want to practice your open hi-hat skills. There's just some really fun playing on the open hi-hat this entire song. It's not an overly difficult song but it does have enough variation to keep things fresh and interesting and if you're new to expert drums this is a really good song to play expert drums on. Tje guitar is pretty solid it's pretty easy song on guitar. The main riff is pretty easy to play and their really are no guitar solos but what really makes this song fun on guitar are the chord changes. The bass is probably the weakest intstrument but that's not really saying much. This is the best song of the weak on bass. The bass i pretty easy but there's enough variety here and some fun stuff during the main guitar riff that is a little bit challenging on bass. Let's go onto our second song of the week. So this is our second song of the week it's from another 90's band Silverchair with the song Tomorrow. I don't really know if these guys had another hit they did have another song that was released in rock band. I always think that these guys are a one hit wonder and this is a really fantastic song on drums. It starts out just like interstate love song with the rim shot and hi-hat so if you have an electronic drum kit let that rim shot ring. And the rest of the song plays heavily on the ride cymbal and the bass but this song really utilitizes the double crash almost it feels like almost every crash hit is a double crash so if you have pro drums whether it's the madcatz set or electronic set or the ion set this is a really fun song if you really love playing double crashes The hardest part of the song is the bass drum pattern where you're playing really two really fast kick drum notes other than that it's a pretty basic song with some fills thrown in on the toms as well. The guitar is pretty easy like interstate love song but what keeps this song really fun is the chord changes. The bass is probably the weakest song of all the instruments. Let's go onto our final song of the week.

The final song of the week is another 90's song from the Seattle band The Screaming Trees. It's the song I nearly lost you. This was a real surprise hit song. I didn't even know the song existed in rock band until i was watching tv and i really liked the song and i went and googled it and sure enough it was on the rock band DLC store. This is really a great song on drums it's probably the best song of the week on drums for this week. There's a good amount of variety here you'll be playing a lot on the hi-hat snare and then you'll be playing on the ride and snare but it's not your basic beat there's a lot of variety thrown in there and then the intro and then the bridge section of the song feature this you know bridge where you're basically playing on the toms. It sort of feels like the drum solo in spoonman.. I highly recommend it if you want something that's not too difficult but features a lot of nice little variety. The guitar is proba
