The 3 most dog-friendly places in Tampa Bay 🐾

Number 1- St. Petersburg

St. Pete is consistently ranked as one of the most dog friendly cities in the country, and it shows! Most restaurants in downtown allow dogs on the patios and some will have water bowls available as well. There are a few dog park/bar combos like the Dog Bar and Mutts & Martinis, and Pinellas Ale Works is a great dog-friendly brewery. Most outdoor events or activities let you bring your dog, we love walking along the Pier or going to the Saturday market. There’s also TONS of dog events like meetups and playdates, dog-friendly holiday events, and Dog Days at the Rays. A short drive south is Fort Desoto, which has a great dog beach.

Number 2- South Tampa

Tampa itself also ranks high as one of the most dog friendly places to live in the USA. The South Tampa area, specifically, is super walkable and most restaurants will let you bring your dog on the patio. Hyde Park Village allows dogs in the outdoor areas and all restaurant patios. Davis Island dog park and Picnic Island have also have dog beaches. In downtown, the Tampa riverwalk, Sparkman’s wharf and Armature works are great places to hang out with your dog!

Number 3- Dunedin

One of Florida’s most dog-friendly beach towns! There’s Honeymoon Island State Park, which has one of the best on-leash dog beaches! This town is very walkable and nearly all restaurants and breweries allow dogs on their year-round outdoor patios. One of our favorite places to stop is Strachan’s ice cream to get a free pup cone! Dunedin also has annual dog events like Mardi Paws dog parade and Dogtoberfest.
