Step 5 of the SAP Process Explained: RTD Test, Clearinghouse, and DMV Questions

I’ve been getting a lot of questions from CDL drivers about Step 5 of the DOT SAP process which is the Return-to-Duty (RTD) drug test. This step causes a lot of confusion, especially around who is actually responsible for ordering the test, updating the FMCSA Clearinghouse as well as the CDL downgrade by the DMV.

It’s important for CDL drivers to understand that SAP professionals do not handle or order RTD testing. In this video, I break down the correct procedure for SAP drivers, so you can stay compliant and avoid misinformation in the trucking industry.
