Reporting For Duty in Iraq with COL Gallimore

The first time I met COL (Ret.) Ron Gallimore, I was intimidated. He was really tall with a high and tight haircut, had this big bird (Colonel) rank on his uniform, and had the most amazing NC drawl I had ever heard. He gave me the oddest and most challenging assignment of my Army career, as a liaison officer to the South Korean Army in Irbil, Iraq. I had no training for it whatsoever, but fortunately, I figured it out.
