Certain things, coming from the States, are simply a no-no. One of them being, not to look at another person too long. In other words, don't stare. You will surely get a verbal reaction, likes of, "What the $*#@ you looking at?" Well, when in Rwanda, please keep that in check because it is not something you will hear. However, you will definitely be stared at...alot. We've realized and learned not to take it personal because it is absolutely not. Rwandan people are truly some of the most friendly that you'll ever meet. They have no problem speaking and talking with you.
