In America it's in the economy that the impact of coronavirus is really being felt. Hundreds of companies are closing down and tens of millions are now unemployed.

And now there are warnings that the recession could be worse than the Great Depression of the 1930s, which hollowed out communities and left deep scars on the American psyche which are still felt today.
