The M26 Pershing was the U.S. Army’s most powerful tank of World War II. Entering combat in 1945, this heavy tank was armed with a 90mm gun and strong armor, giving American forces a much-needed answer to the German Tiger I, Tiger II (King Tiger), and Panther tanks.
