These days the Petroff Defense (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6) seems to have been superseded by the Berlin Defense at the elite level, but it remains a tough nut to crack. I choose an easy-to-play setup with 5.Nc3 Nxc3 6.dxc3 (intending queenside castling) and aim to secure the bishop pair for the middlegame.
