This is the story of Balvant Parekh, the founder of Pidilite Industries, who turned a simple idea into one of India’s most powerful consumer brands. From struggling to find a job after his law degree to working as a peon and sleeping in a warehouse, his journey started from the ground up.

He noticed a major gap in the market—carpenters in India were still using weak animal glue, while global markets had already shifted to stronger synthetic adhesives. In 1959, he launched Fevicol and changed the industry forever.

Instead of targeting customers, he focused on carpenters, building trust through demos and samples. Combined with iconic advertising, Fevicol became a household name.

Today, Pidilite is a ₹1.3 lakh crore company, proving that solving one real problem can build an empire.
