Carpenters: Yesterday Once More (1996 Documentary)

Filmed thirteen years after Karen's death, this was the first documentary to go behind the scenes and examine the complex brother-sister relationship and uncover the emotional and physical damage, jealousy, driving ambition and obsession that lay beneath the purity of their pop music and squeaky-clean public image. Richard Carpenter talks about how his sister manipulated his own romantic relationships, while there are further contributions from their mother Agnes Carpenter, Maria Galeazzi, John Denver, The Osmonds, Phil Ramone, Herb Alpert and Burt Bacharach.
